Teskooano 0.3.0
Many Suns
A rebuilt physics engine, Sol with real orbits, multi-star lighting and shadows, comets, and new info panels.
Version 0.3.0 rebuilt the simulation core and brought our own Solar System into Teskooano. You can read the full story in the dev diary, Cataclysms and Creation.
Highlights
- A new physics system built from the ground up, with a choice of how accurately it simulates.
- Sol, our own Solar System, as a built-in system.
- A multi-star lighting system: real colour and luminosity from the star type, the body’s albedo and its distance.
- Multiple shadows: moons cast shadows on planets, and planets cast shadows on ring systems.
- A new comet type with a coma and tail that react to the star’s distance and direction.
- New information panels for light, shadows, gravity and other physical details.
- An improved travel camera and notification system.
- Labels with each body’s distance and speed, and AU markers out to 100,000 AU that hide to reduce clutter.
- Better orbit and prediction lines, with labels showing how long a body takes to get there.
- Improved procedural system generation.
