System files
Every system, whether it’s from the catalogue, made from a seed or exported
from the simulator, is a system file: JSON with a schemaVersion, a
name, a basis and its bodies in objects.
basis: "elements"holds orbital elements, each at its own epoch. Opening one moves every body to the current time. Catalogue systems such as Sol use it.basis: "snapshot"holds the bodies as they were atsimulationTime, plus theseedfor generated systems. Opening one resumes from that time. The simulator’s Export writes one.
The schema is in
@teskooano/system-file.
Catalogue API
The catalogue is open to read, with no key needed:
| Request | Returns |
|---|---|
GET /api/catalogue |
Published systems: slug, name, description, bodyCount |
GET /api/catalogue/{slug} |
The system file, such as /api/catalogue/sol |
Responses can be cached for 5 minutes. To open a catalogue system in the
simulator, link to /teskooano/c/{slug}. To open a generated system, link
